Michael Leo is a Tanzanian youth aged 25, a teacher by profession who holds a bachelor degree of arts with education (Kiswahili & Linguistics) from St. Augustine University of Tanzania (Class of 2019). He works with different non profit organizations both International and local, he currently works as a Deputy Country Director of Africa – Asia Youth Foundation (Tanzania), an organization aiming at connecting youth from Africa and Asia to advocate for development, an Application Reviewer under Atlas Corps. He is also a peace advocate, in that he is acting as a Global Peace Ambassador under the Global Peace Chain organization (2019-2021), the main purpose of GPC is to promote peace in the world. He is a World Literacy Foundation Ambassador (2020), WLF is an organization that is advocating for literacy worldwide. He is a Regional Volunteer Coordinator at the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC – SMM), an organization which aims at promoting human rights all over the world. He is also a Community Manager at We Make Change Tanzania (WMCT). A Content Creator under Impact Youth Sustainability. Furthermore, he is a general operation manager at SOMA International and a SAVVY Fellow.
He worked as an Assistant Contact Person of the Companion of Women and Children Enlightenment (COWOCE) organization in Shinyanga, COWOCE is a non profit organization which aims at empowering women & children in different aspects, a brand ambassador of the I Love Black People. He was also the Head of Membership under the Global Youth Ambassadors for Peace and Security (GYAPS Tanzania). Brand Ambassador at Bali International Model United Nations Conference (2019). A Youth Delegate at Future Leaders Initiative (2019) and a Generally Secretary at CepasdAfrica in Tanzania Chapter.
Michael Leo has attended different summits and conferences including Global Leadership Summit 2018 & 2019 by the GLS Tanzania, AIESEC Career fair 2019 & 2020. He also participated in the Summer Mentorship Program by In-Sight Collaborative.
Michael Leo has been undertaking different online courses for personal development, he completed a course on Sign Language Linguistics in Africa by S-DELI, Certificate in Leadership and Management offered by African Leadership Institute (ALI), Global Leadership Assessment by GLA 360

Michael Leo is passionate about volunteering for development, he is a member of National Youth Engagement Network (NYEN), a youth platform that brings together young people who volunteered under VSO, Restless Development & Raleigh International to support different community projects. He has volunteering experience gained from variety of NGO’s like Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO-ICS) in supporting primary school kids in Kamachumu – Muleba, Tanzania Sickle cell Warriors (TASIWA), Up With Community, UCO is an organization based in Zanzibar which empowers children in schools, disabled and old people. International Organization of UN Volunteers (IOUNV), he also became the Team Leader of Kidumu Chirizi Project.
Apart from all the achievements stated above, Michael Leo is well equipped with knowledge in ICT and eager to help people in this field, he is a blogger, and a graphics designer.
